We want to
thank the Texas Sporting Journal for working with us on this
article. Throughout the years sports hunters and fisherman have had to purchase a license through the federal, state or county governments to be in compliance with the laws of that governing entity. The licenses were issued in all shapes, sizes and materials, too. This makes for an interesting collection if you are so inclined. In addition to the group of examples above http://www.antiqueprices.tv has made a special effort to develop a list of these different types of materials for your viewing pleasure. Prices are included for most but not all. Of special interest are the issues pertaining to reproductions of badges. With prices above $1,000 reproductions are a concern. Recently a reproduction badge from Hawaii sold for $300+. The Hawaii badge displayed above was made by a prominent company which has made badges since the 1890's. Because of lack of room on this page we have not displayed the makers mark here but it is very visible on the Hawaii badge displayed on our web site. The reproduction was not marked. In the field of antiques and collectibles, knowledge and pricing based on condition is the key and this is what we are about. Have we described everything. No .... but we are certainly trying.
